    Hi, Dan:

I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon prospecting for stone in Wabaunsee County with Alex Gnadt. Your trophy rock is securely tied down in the pickup. No worries re: theft. I can see it from here! Plus, it weighs 200 pounds ...

  2. Andy, good fun expolring with you.

As a third generation, family farm member Alex had a lot of interesting stories to tell us about his home ground.
In one short stretch of creek valley on their property there were once twelve
homesteaders with many stone buildings. Now there's only a ruin or
two remaining. One 12' x 12' single story structure is said to have
housed a family of seven when it was built in the 1800's.
